Camp Curriculum
Mastering True Bike Control
We’ll start by building a rock-solid foundation of control that goes far beyond basic pedaling. Through fun games and drills, your child will learn:
The Slow-Motion "Snail" Race to develop incredible balance and fine motor control.
Precision Weaving & Slaloms to master tight turns and learn to look ahead through corners.
One-Handed Riding Drills to build the core stability needed for hand signaling.
The "Look Back" Safety Scan to check for friends or traffic without swerving.
Confident Braking & Speed Management
This section is all about safety and control, with a special focus on mastering hand brakes—a critical skill for bikes without coaster (pedal) brakes.
Hand Brake University, a deep dive into using hand brakes effectively and safely.
Confident "Power Stops", teaching the proper technique to brake quickly without losing control.
Gentle Downhill Speed Control on a grassy slope, providing a safe place to practice.
Navigating Real-World Obstacles
Next, we'll teach your child how to tackle the real world with confidence, turning scary obstacles into fun challenges.
The Curb Drop, where we'll teach the proper technique to safely ride off a neighborhood curb.
The "Scanning Game" to train their eyes to spot and avoid potential hazards like cracks or sticks.
Riding Over Bumps & Ramps smoothly, teaching them not to panic when the terrain isn't perfect.
Group Riding & "Rules of the Road"
Finally, we’ll prepare your child to ride safely with you and their friends by teaching them how to be predictable and aware in a group.
Riding Safely with Others, learning how to follow and maintain a safe distance.
Polite Passing, teaching the essential verbal cue of calling out "On your left!"
Official Hand Signals for turns and stopping, so they can ride like a pro with family and friends.
