Carmel is arguably the best cycling town in Indiana, with the Monon Greenway running its spine and roundabouts built to keep riders safe. Your child should get to enjoy it. Learn2Ride, founded right here in Carmel, teaches kids ages 6 and up to ride without training wheels in a single 2-hour workshop.
Families near Central Park, Founders Park, West Park, and the Village of WestClay come to us because our 4-step method works where driveway attempts stall: 89 percent of first-time riders leave pedaling on their own the same day. Our coaches keep groups small and encouraging, so even a hesitant or previously frustrated child finds their balance fast. Bring a properly sized bike and a helmet, we bring the method honed over hundreds of local riders. Carmel sessions book quickly, so reserve your child's spot below and get them on the Monon.

Ages 6+
Group workshops are for kids 6 and up. Younger riders usually fit better in a one-on-one session.
What to bring

Whether they're just starting out or need a confidence boost, our experienced instructors are here to guide them every step of the way.
Important Instructions:
✅ Arrival and Bike Info - Please ensure that you arrive on time for the workshop, bringing your child's bike in good working order and a helmet for their safety.
If you feel comfortable removing the training wheels at home, kindly do so before the workshop. We will not be using training wheels at any time during the session.
We have also found higher success with smaller bikes, so if your child has multiple bikes, please bring the smaller one also (even if you think they have outgrown it!).
✅ Snacks - Snacks will be provided during the workshop to keep the participants energized and hydrated throughout the session. Please bring a water bottle if possible. If your child has any specific dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.
✅ Parent Attendance - Parents are more than welcome to stay and observe the workshop. It can be an exciting and memorable experience for both you and your child as they take their first steps towards riding without training wheels.
If you think your child will learn easier alone (we get it!), please return 90 minutes after the start of the workshop. That is the typical time we see kids taking the first pedal strokes on two wheels and we don't want you to miss it!
⚠️ Restroom Facilities - Please note that there are no restrooms on site. We recommend using the facilities before the workshop begins to avoid any inconvenience.
🚫 Cancellation Policy - We know that plans can change! If you need to reschedule, we are happy to move your child to a future workshop or provide with 24hr advance notice. Read our complete cancellation policy here.
